Beginnings are always hard. So it is with everything from love, through study and work, to such negligible things as writing a first post in a new blog are. Lets make it somewhat easier, lets start with music. :)
Without music life would be a mistake. ~Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
And it is true, at least in my opinion. Music can express everything that words and gestures alone cannot. It is something deep inside us, resonating, living its own life. Each person is attuned to something different, according to his nature, character and needs. Even spiritual needs.
Music is the mediator between the spiritual and the sensual life. ~Ludwig van Beethoven
And this is important to me, as spirituality would be one of the main themes of this blog. Something many people have lost in the course of centuries. Today, at the dawn of a new aeon, when the most basic human instincts are no longer dormant and rise from a thousand years of being submerged because of official belief systems trying to control men, there is music to set us free.
The ancient Celts believed that music is a gift from the gods, given to men to work its miracles among them. Their famous bards were able not only to make people merry, but also to cause fear in their opponents, to force listeners to tears, to put them to sleep. They even knew how to use music to heal. Our modern science was in the recent decades able to "discover" this whole scale of effects music has on us, and "prove" what the ancients knew so long ago.
When you listen to your favorite tunes, you are not only doing this to amuse yourself, but also to clear your soul. For soul, music is like a long relaxing bath is for your body. The vibrations it emanates are passing through our body in waves, destroying everything foul in their path. Were we only able, like the ancients were, to know which music suits best what kind of illnes, which opens our minds to the spiritual, we would lead fuller, healthier lifes.
For me, it was always the classical music. Whose heart would not leap at the tones of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, or Mozart's Little Night Music?
Did you hear the coming spring? Did you feel the thawing snow, water running through streams, a spring storm? Lush green forests, where life is plentiful, without smoke, without crowds, and loud sounds, without cars and roads and buildings everywhere?

I also always liked the celtic (or better to say celtic inspired) music. No... not liked. Loved! It catched my heart as soon as I heard it. Few people nowadays are able to feel the same passion, the same joy from being alive, from having a senseful body, from running wild and feeling as free as possible.. No restriction, no faux morale, no rules, other than those natural ones - harm no living being, for it is sacred, and it has the same right to live as we do.
Can you feel the blood running through your weins? Can you see bonfires burn brightly in the night? Loud voices, laughter and all things that could set ones soul ablaze!
These days, we experience what is called spring equinox. What better time to greet spring and say good bye to winter than with music? Listen to the magical tones from the Holland pagan folk group Omnia (Satyr Sex above is from them) and allow long lost joy and happiness into your life along with music that awakens what slept for dozens of generations :))
Blue sky to all of you and see you again soon ;)
P.S.: Say hello to the new life!
